Primary Level

(CLASS I TO CLASS V)

Starting school is probably one of the most important experiences of a child’s life. Children are often both reluctant to leave their parents’ side as well as excited to explore and learn from their new environment. To allow the children to feel comfortable and secure, school hours are kept flexible for the first few weeks.

Our pre-school section is a wonderful environment for our youngest pupils, full of fun and stimulating early learning activities. We have a child centered approach to education, with a learning programme designed to meet the individual needs of children – we try our best to integrate modern teaching methods and materials with traditional cultural values.

The students develop in a caring and happy atmosphere based on the principles of love and mutual respect. Working from our children’s perception of the world, we try to inspire their curiosity, imagination and the beginning of independent thinking. The school enables children to see themselves as confident and capable learners. It provides an atmosphere where each child can achieve his/her own potential. Since children learn within the family as well as in school, close contact is maintained between teachers and parents.

PSI children have time to make friends, time to learn and time to grow. They are gently introduced to new routines and boundaries, and we adapt our teaching methods to their individual needs. Children are provided with excellent opportunities to help them make progress across all areas of learning. Our staff provides a totally child-centered learning environment in which children enter brimming with excitement. They are captivated and inspired by the extensive range of stimulating, imaginative and exciting learning opportunities on offer.

Lessons are theme related and planned to allow a child to explore all areas of the pre-school curriculum and prepare them for their future schooling. We nurture the joy of learning in a warm and colourful environment, providing a gradual introduction to more formal activities and increased self-reliance.

Snack time offers a variety of healthy, nutritious snacks, hygienically prepared in the school kitchen –– a time when students learn table manners, wait for their turn, as well as share and care.

Children learn about universal human values through hearing stories, value based activities and songs. Virtues such as honesty, compassion and humility are encouraged. Through love and discipline we build the foundations of true character and integrity.

Our programme seeks to assist the growth of children in the following areas:

  1. Communication, Language and Literacy
  2. Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  3. Mathematical Development
  4. Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  5. Creative Development
  6. Physical Development

We aim to

Support children’s social and emotional development by teaching them to be helpful, kind and respectful.

Encourage independence and development of self discipline by involving them in activities that are engaging as well as challenging.

Support the physical development of the child, both fine motor and gross motor skills.

Encourage children to make choices by nurturing confidence, rewarding achievement and preparing them to face the consequences of their actions.

Support children’s creative development through music, art, craft and dance.

Widen children’s horizons through field trips and excursions.

We take into consideration children’s ages and stages of development and support them to ensure they reach their full potential.

Our mission in cooperation with parents, is to provide educational opportunities for all children, to promote academic excellence in a safe and caring environment, to enhance self confidence through personal responsibility, and to develop life-long learners who will be productive citizens in a diverse and changing world.
