“PSI is a warm, welcoming place in which to learn and grow — a school where due importance is given to academics, discipline and values, to turn out well-rounded young boys and girls.”
Mrs Ashraf founded PSI in 1990 with six teachers and nurtured it for more than three decades. She passed away on 20 October 2026. Her vision of love, discipline and values lives on in every Preparatorian.

A home away from home
Founded in 1990 by Mrs Shabnam Ashraf with a teaching staff of just six, Preparatory School Islamabad has grown into one of the most respected schools in Pakistan.
Learning happens in a caring, friendly and disciplined atmosphere, where every child has the chance to grow according to their own gifts and talents. Our classes are kept deliberately small, so that every student is known, guided and encouraged.

Cambridge A Levels at PSI
In August 2026, PSI opened its A Level programme, extending the Cambridge pathway to the pre-university years.
Students can now continue their journey at PSI, pursuing specialised subjects and developing the knowledge, skills and independence needed for higher education.
